Often people confuse literary with education. Literacy is merely learning to read and write whereas education encompasses a whole gamut of mental and ethical developments related to the individual and society, which includes capacity building, skill development and more importantly discerning between what is right or wrong in particular social contexts.
The J. D. Birla Institute has the aim of empowering young women through education and not mere literacy. Both the formal and non-formal aspects of education are woven into the curriculum of the College to create mentally aware, morally upright and socially conscious young women, year after year, who have excelled in their chosen fields. The effort, when it started was path breaking, but now being an established practice, providing growth with quality has become a way of life.
Towards this end, the contributions of the Principal and her team are laudable. The faculty, which is the backbone of the learning process of the college, provides the right impetus to research based study, innovative technology and effective analyses and learning, They have proven to be outstanding educational leaders over the years.
I take this opportunity to wish the J. D. Birla Institute, its faculty and the students all the very best in all their endeavors. May the Almighty Bless all their ventures.
